We recently opened a new staff area in memory of a much loved resident, Valerie Chipperfield, thanks to a generous donation. Staff celebrated the opening with a BBQ, taking time to remember Valerie and appreciate this meaningful recognition of their hard work.

The space includes a sheltered area with table and chairs, a seating area in the sun and a shaded area on the grass with bean bags and comfortable chairs.

Tony, a member of the team, said “It’s a great space and has become a bit of a hub for everyone to come together, a place where the care staff, domestic team, kitchen staff and everyone in between can have a well earned rest and spend time outside of the busy environment.”

Steven Edmunds, said: “We are incredibly grateful for donations like this. They allow us to significantly improve our facilities and bless the staff and residents who spend their time here. As a charity, Eckling Grange aims to keep fees competitive, so we don’t exclude those on social funding or with limited means. However, this means that with rising operating costs, financing capital improvements is a challenge.

Acts of generosity are so vital to improving and expanding our facilities, above simply maintaining them. Historically, major parts of our building were founded entirely on legacy gifts. That enduring tradition of giving is what built Eckling Grange since it’s opening in the 1960s, and it remains essential for our future.”

Eckling Grange’s mission is to care for the elderly by providing person centred care in a supportive environment that celebrates Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, this includes hymn services, prayer groups, and the support of two pastors, supported by a well staffed team of highly trained care staff and management. From retirement housing and residential care to our dedicated dementia wing, this home can support residents through every stage of their needs.
